Motley Crue’s Vince Neil has seen his fair share of controversy, but when reports surfaced about a plane registered in his name crashing in Scottsdale, Arizona, the rock world held its breath.

On February 10, 2025, a Bombardier Learjet 35A attempted to land at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona but lost control, slamming into a stationary Gulfstream 200 on the runway.

One person lost their life. Four others were injured, with two in critical condition. First responders rushed to the scene, pulling survivors from the wreckage.

As emergency crews worked to contain the situation, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an immediate investigation. Early reports suggested a mechanical failure—possibly an issue with the Learjet’s left main landing gear—may have caused the plane to veer off course.

As news of the crash spread, one major detail caught everyone’s attention:

The Learjet 35A was registered to Vince Neil, frontman of Motley Crue. Poison singer Bret Michaels stepped in to clarify the situation.

Posting on Facebook, Michaels wrote:

“My deepest sympathy and condolences to the pilot that just passed away in Scottsdale Airpark and the other pilot who was injured, as well as my thoughts and prayers to our family friend Rain, her friends and all those that were injured in the tragic landing. I was relieved to hear that my friend Vince Neil was not on board at the time of the incident…I often fly out from this Scottsdale Airpark location and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to all involved!!”

Then came an official statement from Vince Neil’s legal team. It read:

At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was
attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport. For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.

More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation. Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.

This tragedy highlights a growing issue—the increasing number of private jet accidents across the U.S.
