In the new documentary “Fall to Pieces” about the band Razorlight, frontman Johnny Borrell recalled a bizarre encounter he had with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.
“Yeah, I punched Dave Grohl in the face, yeah,” Borrell says in a clip from the film. “But it was only because he asked me to! He was going, ‘Come on maaan. Don’t you f*cking British rockers, you’re so g*y. Punch me!’ And that was his game. He used to like doing shots, and then just, like, hitting each other in the moosh.”
Borrell continued, clarifying that his experience with Grohl was nothing but positive: “Yeah, he was nice. Dave Grohl was a very kind person actually, as far as my interactions with him went.”
However, when someone off-camera replied that “nobody has a bad word to say about him”, Borrell responded: “That’s not true…camera off!” The clip then abruptly cuts off.
Foo Fighters and Razorlight both performed in December of 2005 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, which had Oasis as the headlining act.
