Maynard James Keenan recently announced the new Tool album release date is August 30th, and the band are currently on a wildly successful European tour with rave reviews. Despite this, the band recently made a dark tweet about how the band will end when the members die in response to a fan request, and suggested that fans see them before they’re dead (and before fans themselves die).

A fan named Kenneth tweeted Tool, “Any news on the lineup for #GMM20? 😉 How about the almighty @Tool? Since there’s simply no way in hell I’m spending any money for the yuppy festival that is Rock Werchter… @GraspopMetal #GMM19.”

Tool responded, “All of us are over 45 (most over 54) and rarely come to Europe. Might want to seize the moment. We don’t get many. Life is fleeting. Come see us LIVE. #cantseeusdead #tool2019.”

Kenneth responded, “Oh don’t get me wrong, I seized the moment by traveling to Amsterdam just to see you guys there. Cost-wise it was probably on par to attending a festival, but I’m confident it was a way more pleasant experience (indoors, hall full of Tool fans, etc.).”

Another fan named Kenny tweeted, “If life is fleeting how about doing your art justice and sharing it with as many as possible, tour as much as you can before you all die and share your gifts. Some don’t have enough to afford over expensive festivals. Hoping I can experience your music one day.”

A fan named Nick chimed in, “After seeing you at @DownloadFest and seeing the amazing response especially to Justin’s performance, perhaps just perhaps you might give the fans what they want, a full European tour, then, go away, incubate more stunning music for 13 years and intoxicate us all over again.”

Trading_Dark_Matter wrote on the Tool Reddit, “Almost offensive after 12 years waiting. I skipped the round of tour because of work (and mostly because it was a festival date) but also sure they’re going to come back to present an album with no title yet. I was wrong. This changes everything. I must admit i’m hugely disappointed but i believe this is what a Tool fan deserves.”
