Tool drummer Danny Carey saved the day after a technical screwup at a recent festival. Maynard James Keenan has announced that the new Tool album will be released on August 30th, and the band are currently touring ahead of the album’s release. Heitham Al-Sayed posted on Instagram:

“So, tonight Tool were watching our first ever Denmark show at Copenhell from the side. Danny Carey notices that the bass drum is cutting out and instead of waiting for a technician, he runs out onstage and fixes the bass drum mic himself. So, when I say Tool are the real deal, I’m not f**king around! Thanks to everyone at Copenhell and Tool. Unforgettable #fiendofficial #fiend #tool #toolarmy #heavy #psychedelic #doom #sludge.”

Danny Carey also recently relaunched his official website DannyCarey.org.

A new post last week stated, “Besides rock music, Danny grew up listening to some of the great symphonies that were in his father’s record collection. His dad, Big Bob, also took him to see many of these orchestral works performed live. He encouraged Danny’s passion for drumming, no doubt putting up with lots of loud practice sessions coming from the attic in the early days.

Once his son could play ELP’s ‘Tank’ perfectly, he knew a great drummer would emerge from tiny Paola, Kansas. So, here’s to the memory of Big Bob on this Father’s Day. Now that Danny has his own son, we’ll have to wait and see if he takes up the drums. I certainly wouldn’t bet against it?”
