Tool are planning some early summer 2020 North American tour dates around their Bonnaroo performance, including replacing Metallica at the Sonic Temple Festival in May after James Hetfield revealed he has an event tied into his rehab recovery. Maynard James Keenan was recently joined by an ex-bandmate onstage at a Tool show.

Miss_saphygirl posted on Reddit previously about rumors, “So, I overheard Danny say they’d play SF in May or June… Context: First Tool concert, did VIP, totally TOTALLY worth it if you’re going to be shelling out a lot of money to try and be up front anyway. Danny and Justin came down and walked along the front of the group after the soundcheck and were chatting with people.

They were super friendly and chill and just seemed like normal dudes. So, a guy about three people ahead of me asked Danny when they would be playing San Francisco again, and Danny answered May or June. Whether or not that’ll actually happen, who knows. But I was excited to hear that.”

Sharkt0pus said about a recent VIP experience, “Overall I’m glad I did it. The seats alone were worth it to me. I don’t know if I’d do it again, but I don’t have any regrets about spending the money for this show. It was nice to be surrounded by all the other VIP’s because they were all really friendly and really into the show which just adds to the experience. At the encore the guy running the VIP experience came up and checked on all of us which I thought was really nice.

Hope this helps anyone that’s on the fence about whether or not they should go for it at any upcoming shows.” Maynard James Keenan trashing a new Tool album ripoff was just revealed.
