What’s the expression – “Milk it for all it’s worth”. Everyone within the entertainment industry seems to be doing it a lot lately. Remake after remake after reboot after reboot after rip off after rip off. I suppose that if you own the rights, why not? That’s exactly what one Mr. Lee Roth was apparently thinking too. For he has re-released a solo version of Van Helsing’s, pardon me, Van Halen’s “Everybody Wants Some!” Not sure “what some” exactly though.

As per Ultimate Guitar, David Lee Roth released a new solo version of the Van Halen tune “Everybody Wants Some!!”, following some other re-worked versions by the iconic band such as “Panama” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”. They were hits. Why not?

The frontman recorded all the songs earlier this year, in May, at Henson Recording Studio in Hollywood, California, joined by Al Estrada on guitar, Ryan Wheeler on bass, and Francis Valentino on drums. But why Hollywood? Why not Panama City?

Roth worked on a total of 14 songs with the remaining musicians, in a session lasting in excess of two hours. Two hours! The singer promised that all music and vocals were tracked live with “no samples” and without the aid of pitch-correction technology.
