Very sad and upsetting news is coming out of the Alice In Chains camp as Scott Dachroeden — a longtime guitar tech and photographer for Alice In Chains among other artists including Tool and Rob Zombie — has passed away after a battle with cancer, as reported by Consequence Of Sound.

Dachroeden was a legend in what he did and was adored by all who worked with him. Not only is his family in mourning, but the artists who he has helped and worked with through his long career are also feeling this loss along with those who had the pleasure of meeting him at shows.

He moved from Australia over two decades ago with the hopes becoming a concert photographer and working in the music industry. He made his dream into a reality through hard work and believing in himself. He had worked as a photographer and guitar tech for not just Alice in Chains, but for others such as Tool, Rob Zombie, Halestorm, Bush, and many more.

There is a GoFundMe page for Dachroeden, which was set up earlier this month as he had battled stage 4 cancer. Scott was diagnosed with the illness after returning from a summer tour with Alice In Chains, for whom he had worked with for 14 years.

Truly, a loss to the music community and we hope that not only is he at peace, but that those also affected by his passing find peace and light in these difficult times as well. Certainly, it is never easy, especially when someone who is a staple within a community is lose.

Rest in peace, Mr. Dachroeden!
