Howard Stern Reveals Why Van Halen Fired Michael Anthony

Howard Stern discussed Eddie Van Halen thinking Michael Anthony was ‘no good’ at playing bass as being a reason for his 2006 dismissal from the band in an episode last week. Eddie Van Halen’s wife revealed an injury yesterday after cancer rumors.

MarksFriggin.com recapped: Howard said they have such a good catalog of music on that app. He said he was watching that clip of Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony in there. He said they were talking about how they wrote a song and how Eddie Van Halen was outside his window yelling at him to come downstairs. He told the story about what went on with that song ”Finish What You Started.” Fred played some of that performance in the studio. Howard said you have to watch these guys. He said Michael Anthony is so good with the harmonies. He said if he could do that he’d be carrying on about it. He said Michael just does it.

Howard said it’s a song about blue balls. He said it’s so great. He said he loves musicians and what they do. He said it’s beautiful. He said he had a band but nothing happened. He said it was awful. He said he told Fred to write him a hit song and nothing happened.

Michael Anthony called a Van Halen bandmate a ‘liar’ a few days ago. Howard said Michael Anthony got kicked out of Van Halen and he’s so good. He said someone said he was no good at playing bass. He said it drives him crazy when they bad mouth the guy. He said it’s kind of like Trump. He said Eddie is like that. He said Trump puts someone in office and then he bad mouths him months later. Robin said at least Trump figures it out early. Robin said Eddie hung on to Michael for 30 years before he realized it.

Howard said just watch this video they have up on YouTube. He said it’s a great performance and they just do it like it’s not a big deal to them. Robin said musicians play like that instrument is another part of their body. Robin said it seems so easy.
