The official Instagram account for late The Beatles icon John Lennon tweeted out the following quote. John Lennon called this member of The Beatles a ‘Loser’. The quote is actually a section of lyrics from Polythene Pam, one of The Beatles hits that Lennon wrote, although this particular track is credited to both John Lennon and fellow iconic The Beatles member Paul McCartney. John Lennon lost massive money before his death. John Lennon originally wrote this song, which appears on their 1969 album Abbey Road during a 1968 stay in India, as the post that you can view below elaborates. John Lennon’s painful ‘wounds’ were finally revealed.

POLYTHENE PAM⠀
Well you should see Polythene Pam⠀
She’s so good looking but she looks like a man⠀
Well, you should see her in drag dressed in her polythene bag⠀
Yes, you should see Polythene Pam⠀
Yeah, yeah, yeah⠀
Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt⠀
She’s killer-diller when she’s dressed to the hilt⠀
She’s the kind of a girl that makes the News of the World⠀
Yes you could say she was attractively built⠀
Yeah, yeah, yeah⠀

“That was me, remembering a little event with a woman in Jersey – an island off the French coast that’s English – and a man called Royston Ellis who was England’s answer to Allen Ginsberg, who gave us our first exposure. He was a beatnik that looked like a beatnik, came to Liverpool before we were famous and he had a poem called “Easy, easy, breaking and easy” and he was doing it for the Ginsberg – Beatnik – Carrack trip in England and he was the only one they had. He also wrote for the New Musical Express. He gave us our first national exposure – he came to Liverpool to get a Jazz group – in those days it was jazz and poetry – and he came and there weren’t any jazz groups, there was only the Beatles – so that’s the first rock and roll in poetry. He read poetry and we played blues and he mentioned this in the paper. ⠀

Years later he had a job in Jersey TV. I met him when we were big and on tour and he took me back to his apartment and I had a girl and he had one that he’d said: “Do you want to meet her?” Polythene Pam – she dresses up in polythene which she did – in polythene bags – and she didn’t wear jackboots and kilt – I just sort of elaborated. It was kind of, you know, perverted [intercourse] in a polythene bag.”⠀
