The official Twitter account for late The Beatles icon John Lennon tweeted out the following quote. The quote is in reference to an old interview in which Lennon praises his best friend and then-wife, Yoko Ono. The account said “I’ve had the boyhood thing of being Elvis. Now I want to be with my best friend and my best friend is my wife. Who could ask for anything more?” John Lennon slept with the surprising The Beatles bandmate.

In other news regarding John Lennon and the Beatles, Fans of The Beatles and John Lennon discussed which one of Lennon’s solo works sounded more like a Beatles track in a recent topic within the band’s subreddit.

Ringo Starr revealed if John Lennon hated George Harrison recently. Holybovinebatman said: “In my mind, his work on ‘Double Fantasy’ sounded to me like a positive reconciliation with pop music, with a lot of things really. It’s honestly pretty painful we lost John at that particular moment. But anyway, I think he got swept up in that thing that started in the 60s where rock music was expected to be politically and artistically challenging, so anything resembling unapologetic pop music (like early Beatles, like Paul McCartney solo music) was considered uncool and bad music (check out the Rolling Stone review of RAM for a perfect example).

The user continued: “So I think he basically tried to distance himself from pop, from writing songs that sounded like early Beatles until ‘Double Fantasy’, with almost all his songs to my ears sounding joyfully pop-influenced, sounding like mature versions of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ John if you want to reach a little bit. And not to say nothing in between ‘Abbey Road’ and ‘Double Fantasy’ sounded poppy, but that it’s my sense that he came to really accept his talent as a pop songwriter by the time of ‘Double Fantasy’. An eerie John Lennon divorce photo was freshly revealed.
