Pearl Jam performed in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday night. Eddie Vedder renamed “Even Flow” in honor of President Donald Trump. Vedder said the song’s name was “Tiny Penis Orange Man”. Watch video below the setlist. Alternative Nation did an April Fools Day article jokingly stating that Pearl Jam’s new album had leaked and it was called Orange Man. Fictional song titles included “Orange Man (That’s Him)” and “Better (Hair) Man (That’s Me)”. Could our April Fools Day article become a reality? Stay tuned!

According to Sea and John’s show recap on the PearlJam.com forums, Eddie praised Barcelona. Some balls drawn to look like basketballs prompts Ed to say Barcelona has balls. Big orange ones. Which leads to some talk about how awful Trump is and how important it is to vote him and others like him away.

What this band has stooped to under the “leadership” of Eddie Vedder is laughable.

    • makingconnections

What America has become under the “leadership” of Donald Trump is not laughable.

      • IrregularJohn

I remember hearing the very same sentence after each inauguration be it W.Bush, Obama and Trump. Something tells me the world would have been better off had US concentrated on domestic policy for the last 80 years.

        • makingconnections

I don’t know….Obama was protectionist. I believe the situation will go down in history as a time of degrading of America’s reputation as a bright and hopeful beacon in the world. The idea that such a man could become leader and that the Republican Party would cater to his desire for personal power and his enormous ego will take some time to recover from. That’s how I see it anyway and I don’t think I’m alone.

          • IrregularJohn

If one was to dig deeper US has ceased to be any sort of beacon of hope since the end of WWII. As far as Obama goes – he bombed 7 countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya and now Syria) during his presidency so it’s safe to say that he’s far from a pro-peace president and his Nobel Peace Prize that was given to him in advance is a joke if you take into account everything the US did with him in the office. However all that is irrelevant because no one man is responsible for the atrocities commited by the US – after all it’s a class that does these things and just uses political figures such as presidents as puppets and scapegoats when it suits the class while in reality the role of a person in today’s politics is miniscule.

          • makingconnections

Wise words…obviously even people in other countries buy into the flag waving and pride that American have.
I lived in a beautiful rural area just after the Sept. 11 attack. Suddenly our little place was bought up by U.S. citizens who said they felt safe here in Canada. It’s now like a gated community for wealthy Americans who spend on average 13 weeks a year, sort of a security blanket for them. Many of them had “God Bless America” signs in their car and as I walked by a car with such a sign I impulsively said: “God Bless the World”. The driver said: “No, God Bless America and only America.” I found that pretty contemptuous considering where he was hanging his hat. Oh well, I have some find American friends and every place has all sorts of people. Us humans can behave in the most bizarre ways when we’re not at peace.

Do you think someone is behind Donald Trump’s mad behaviour or is it as it seems–his own performance? His base empowers him, that’s for certain and so do the blank-faced Republicans who sit buy him as he mouths off as he did today. I think with the ancient Constitution used in today’s world, the President has too much power to act unilaterally.

          • Kay B

Trump is seriously this scary. It gets scarier by the day.

          • Lee Hasselbeck

Very intelligent and well thought out comment. We are all better for having read it. Thank you for your generosity /s

          • Kay B

Ready, Get set, Go Fuck yourself.

          • Lee Hasselbeck

Equally compelling. Bravo. Your mother must be proud. Good luck entering the fourth grade.

          • Kay B

I’m not going to make excuses for you. I can’t put a flower in an asshole and call it a vase. I must be compelling because you keep commenting to me.

          • Lee Hasselbeck

Thank you for your continuing efforts in proving my point.

          • makingconnections

Kay doesn’t suffer fools; but please don’t make the mistake of questioning how bright she is. She’s very intelligent with a real knowledge of science.

          • Lee Hasselbeck

If she’s bright, shes putting none of it on display. And there is no fool here to suffer, but I appreciate your concern.

          • makingconnections

I was using the expression as an example of Kay thinking you were a fool to be messing with her. . . and so it went. I did want you to know that she “reveals” her fine intelligence often on this site. She wrote an award-winning poem days after Chris Cornell died that moved so many people and her scientific knowledge is solid. She has a very curious manner of approaching life.

          • Olga Stewart

            You’re a glutton for punishment, I see.

Kay will rip you a new one.

          • IrregularJohn

I don’t think Trump is the solely responsible for what’s wrong with today’s world period. To reiterate he’s just a front for the class that he represents. That class is composed of proprietors of capital goods and their only concern is increasing their capital. From this point of view he’s not that different from his predecessors.

          • makingconnections

Oh I disagree, Donald Trump is a completely unique and horrible President. I listened to him speaking at the meeting in Brussels and his ego drives him – it was as though none of the other members had ever done a thing historically–just America….and nothing good has ever happened in their organization till Donald Trump told them how to organize themselves. It was revolting. He doesn’t seem to have a clue that to call yourself a genius while talking with reporters is off-the-wall.

I agree that he’s not solely responsible because so many citizens and and the Republican Party allowed him to gain power.

          • makingconnections

“We need to change the system. We need to overthrow, not the government….but the rotten, decadent, putrid industrial-capitalist system which breeds such suffering.

        • makingconnections

Another reply…I’ve been thinking about your statement about concentrating on domestic policy…I’m awfully glad the US helped the Allies in WWII; however, it could have stayed out of Viet Nam, could have refrained from interfering in Central American politics and on and on. Even now, the military has no obligation to inform its people of where it’s doing its work, unlike most other democratic countries…and now Donald Trump is cozying up to Russia and messing around with North Korea. These are crazy times, but they’ve been crazy for a long time I suppose.

I think you’re right though–being the World Cop has taken a huge tole on the US.

I so wish we could be less divided in our communities….that is a situation that is getting worse everywhere. You and I are probably on different wave lengths but can talk about this to some degree. That’s where the hope lies for me.

    • Lee Hasselbeck

It’s pretty sad how obsessed he is.

  • N.

He must have heard that one from his teenage daughter. What a shmuck.

    • beadbop

If you’re going to use Jewish insults, at least learn how to spell them correctly, goy-boy!

      • makingconnections

        Super insult!

        • beadbop

Thanks, but it wasn’t intended to be an insult.
If people are going to co-opt ethnic terms, they should take five seconds to look up the proper spellings.
Oh, and Eddie Vedder is definitely ~not~ a schmuck!

          • makingconnections

            I agree!

  • Ryan

Vedder hates half of his audience. If you’re one of them stop supporting this rich liberal cry baby.

    • Stone Gossardish

No, he hates his entire audience. Clearly.

      • makingconnections

So many people don’t understand irony these days.

  • BubbaClinton

Edtard Led Vedder……meh. He wants to be mayor of Seattle.

    • makingconnections

Childish…like Donald Trump. Did you know some people in England are flying a huge air balloon shaped like Donald Trump in diapers in honour of his visit?

      • Seattlesound21

The London Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan granted permission the same person who was the lawyer for a Muslim associated with connection’s on to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.he has family links to extremist organisation Al-Muhajiroun.and has Been Affiliated With Organizations Tied To Hamas, Al-Qaeda, Al Nusra, ISIS And The Muslim Brotherhood. In 2004 he appeared with five Islamic extremists at a conference in London organised by Al-Aqsa.you might think trump is childish but i wish the uk had a prime minister with half has much balls as trump has got cause people having been saying it for years but England is getting taken over we already have no go areas in are cities London and Birmingham and some smaller towns.its the same story in most European countries it is being called the great replacement

        • makingconnections

I know that there is a huge populist movement in Britain in Europe. I’ve witnessed it first hand actually. The problems we have will never be solved if we just continue to point fingers at each other. I think people can be healthier and respectful to each other if their leaders set a good example. Donald Trump is incapable of leading with dignity.

        • makingconnections

There are no normal people–we’re all different–you must mean white people.

          • Seattlesound21

Normal people as in people living day to day life nothing about colour

        • Christopher Stone

As a resident of the Uk, I will agree things aren’t great here, however your ideas are ridiculous, Sadiq khan is not a terrorist or terrorist sympathiser.
Europe is not being taken over – we are just tolerant and supportive of people who are different. If tolerance was more commonplace things would be a lot better. please don’t speak about a country you have no clue about and present it as fact.

          • Seattlesound21

OK I think I do have a clue about a country I’ve lived in all my life.
“Europe is not being taken over – we are just tolerant and supportive of people who are different” OK have you been paying any attention to how divided Europe is at the moment on the immigration problem?.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not against immigration my girlfriend is Asian.I’m against the amount and speed of it and in the uk we already have a massive housing shortage and a failing NHS we need to at some point say enough is enough. As for sadiq khan that’s your opinion but many sources have linked him to extremist organisations

          • Lee Hasselbeck

It’s just too bad that the people you are tolerant of aren’t tolerant of you.

      • cmlukey

Do you know that England is swirling the drain? Terrorists running amok. Authorities too PC to prosecute child sex rings. Their crown-jewel national medical system is failing financially and routinely kills its “customers”. I could go on and on, stupid.

        • makingconnections

Keep drinking the cool aid and hanging out on hate-filled websites. That’s sure to help us all.

          • Lee Hasselbeck

It’s obvious to those who pay attention. London has fallen

      • Kay B

        Haha….

  • person

this is why I no longer go to PJ concerts….Vedder is a typical childish leftist whose beliefs are entirely based on lies…..ALL of liberalism is a lie https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e708a814e73773d4d0dbbc882b8a78324e42352da5789c8fb84f2c21b48e445f.jpg

    • makingconnections

That is the thinking of Trump’s base and it’s all he cares about. You’re pleasing him by being so blindly obedient and easy to program….very sad.

    • Kay B

But you will still click on their articles……

I’d like to say a few things to all of you far right people…tell me what you’d like to be called..conservatives? I’ll call you whatever you like.

What I want to say to you is, how can we go on like this, disrespecting each other, blaming each other and resenting each other? Personally, my hugest concern at this time is the environment. The destruction of the earth by global warming because of our lack of care may take care of all of our pettiness towards each other. The saddest thing I’m feeling in my day-to-day life at this moment is that our black bears are not having cubs this year. It’s thought there are not enough salmon for them and it’s impacted their ability to reproduce.

    • Seattlesound21

I wouldn’t say I was far right or left.as for the environment to be honest its probably to late mankind’s greed will not stop now there’s already 7 billion plus people and estimated to be 10 billion but 2050 what means more forests will be cleared for farms and housing more rivers polluted etc it is sad

  • John

Body shaming is okay if it’s directed towards men.

    • Olga Stewart

      Body shaming is never okay.
