Wolfgang Van Halen shot down the idea of Van Halen continuing as a permanent ongoing band without the late Eddie Van Halen on Sunday, saying it was a ‘shitty lie.’ Eddie Van Halen took a beautiful last photo with his son Wolfgang.

One fan though asked Sammy Hagar about the idea of doing a one time tribute performance concert for Eddie, reuniting (and uniting some for the first time) the band’s surviving members Sammy Hagar, David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony, Alex Van Halen, and Wolfgang Van Halen. The ‘I Am The Highway’ Chris Cornell tribute show in January 2019 featured big name performances from Metallica and Foo Fighters, along with Soundgarden and Audioslave’s surviving members being joined by guests for tribute performances for charity.

A fan told Hagar, “Please please please get Alex, Wolf, Dave and Michael and give Eddie a proper tribute. Not one of these star studded guitar jerk off sessions.” Hagar responded with an emoji that showed a cheers between wine glasses.

The fan shot back, “You are one of the reasons a lot of us still have hope that true rock and roll exists. If anyone can pull it off it’s you. Plus it’s a crime against humanity that Alex Van Halen, one of the best rock drummers ever isn’t anyone and adding hope to a dim and dark world.

Seriously dude, I’m not fuckin around here. Van Halen was a power house of amazingness. You guys kicked ass, took names, and showed the world, this is how you rock the shit out of a place!!!! Hell, You can use my backyard, just give Ed the send off he deserves!!!!!” Hagar and Eddie Van Halen reconciled before Eddie’s death. Would you like to see Van Halen’s surviving members unite for a one off tribute charity show with special guests to honor Eddie, or would you rather just see the members continue to share their memories of the guitar icon?
