Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan recently discussed late Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell in his Instagram story Q&A. Below are excerpts from two recent Corgan Instagram Q&A’s. You can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

I read that Chris Cornell told Cameron Crowe about SP for Singles soundtrack. True?

“It is true.”

I miss Chris Cornell so much. I’m sorry I just had to get that off my chest. I’m so sad.

“Tragic loss.”

I almost lost my love to suicide. Feel guilty I didn’t tell anyone sooner than when I did.

“It’s a subject we all need to tackle head on.”

Why do you think suicide is such an epidemic? Too much self focus in society?

“It’s a super complicated subject that requires incredible sensitivity when discussing.”

Lost my partner 2 years ago and life seemed to stop there. Still feel stuck in time most days. Advice?

“Give yourself the time to grieve, but be conscious that every day you don’t live in the present you are giving something away that your loved one would have given all they had, if only to hold life and love for one more day.”

My friend doesn’t believe in the Illuminati. Personal experiences?

“Your friend must like to watch ostriches at the zoo stick their head in the sand.”

Any thoughts on the popularity of cults and cult ideology in Hollywood?

“More pervasive than anyone could imagine.”

Is a Zwan tour idea picking up more momentum, discussing it with Jimmy & Jeff?

“Oh yeah, we sit around the campfire quoting ‘Endless Summer’ lyrics.”
