Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted‘s first 2019 performance from a few months ago has leaked, as Newsted as joined by The Chophouse Band. In the video, Newsted covers Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” at Lighthouse ArtCenter School of Art in Tequesta, Florida.

A great reminder on just how lucky we are in the US to be able to rock out in the free world without limitations to how loud, how often, or what we choose to crank up in our, homes, cars or ear buds. Thank you, Jason Newsted, Nicole Newsted, The Chophouse Band, and Lighthouse Art Gallery for the art, love, passion, community support, humility, talent and sharing your gifts. We are worthy and we graciously thank you!”

Jason Newsted recently granted an emotional Metallica request to a fan, and more Newsted devotees chimed in with YouTube comments.
