Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl discussed a hotel elevator accident he had in a new ‘Good For You’ podcast interview with Whitney Cummings. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments. Cummings said Grohl was fearless, and he said he isn’t, admitting to one big fear. Dave Grohl also revealed a Kurt Cobain death lie.

“No, not really. Elevators kind of. Oh my god, there was once I got stuck in an elevator. It only happened once. It was in New Zealand, I was staying in this hotel, I was on the 60th f**king floor. I was checking out, and it was one of those fancy hotels where you need the key to get to your room.

The record company had given me a bottle of wine, but they had put this ‘Foo Fighters New Zealand’ label on it. I was like cool, so I get on the elevator, and I start coming down. It was noon, and we had a show that night, and the elevator just stops on the 30th floor. Immediate panic, I’m like f**k, f**k, f**k.”

Dave Grohl making a disturbing drug remark to Dave Chappelle was revealed yesterday. Grohl added, “So I hit lobby, nothing happens. I hit open door, nothing happens. I’m like holy shit, I am stuck by myself on an elevator on the 30th floor. So I hit the call button, and it [rings], and they’re like, ‘Front desk.’ I’m like, ‘Hi, I’m stuck in your elevator on the 30th floor.’ They’re like, ‘Oh my god, we’re so sorry. We’ll be there in a couple of minutes.’

I’m like, ‘F**k.’ The panic hit so hard that all of the musicles in my back [tightened up]. And this bottle of wine had this screw top, and I opened the bottle of wine and chugged it, and then the elevator starts moving. Now I’m hammered at noon. That sucked.” Dave Grohl’s family discussed tragic disease news a few days ago.
