Late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington’s family has suffered another tragic loss to suicide. Eddie Vedder also recently discussed the suicide epidemic that has taken the life of Chester and Chris Cornell. Chester’s widow Talinda has announced, “With the saddest of hearts, I ask for your help #LPFamily. Jaime’s & Isaiah’s cousin, @ElkaBr nephew, died by suicide on Nov 8th. He was just 14 years old. Xander was the sweetest boy and his death does not define him. It was a permanent solution to a temporary feeling. 👇🏼” She added, “We must keep fighting to spread education and awareness. PLEASE help my family, the Mecum family by donating to their Go Fund Me.”

The Go Fund Me page by Jolene Berger states, “On November 8, 2019 a tragic accident took the life of our sweet Xander Levi Mecum. Our memories will always remain as Xander is… he is a loving, kind, generous young man. He is sweet, loyal, funny and compassionate. He gives the best hugs and has the most genuine smile.

This campaign is to raise funds to help the family with the unexpected expenses of the funeral and the cost of moving. The family would like to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Each of you are greatly appreciated.”

Chester Bennington died by suicide on July 20, 2017 at 41 years old, and since then his widow Talinda has been a suicide prevention and mental health advocate. Howard Stern recently discussed Chester Bennington’s widow. Linkin Park have also promoted mental health causes, and they performed a tribute show for Chester in fall 2017 at the Hollywood Bowl, and they have been on hiatus since then.
