Tool members Maynard James Keenan and Adam Jones failed to attend the Grammy awards and performances on Sunday, where Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey accepted the Best Metal Performance Grammy. Maynard was in Arizona for a wine event.

Caduceus Cellars tweeted, “Our head winemaker gave @BobbyStuckeyMS & @FrascaFoodWine Somm Matthew Mather a tour of the Eliphante Block the day before their @azvignerons seminar on Sangiovese and Aglianico. Good timing since Alessandro Zanutta was on site instructing our vineyard crew on pruning techniques.”

Merkin Vineyards said, “We are back for day 2 of the Arizona Wine Festival today in downtown Phoenix! We’re pouring wines from Merkin Vineyards, @caduceuscellars and @Four8Wineworks all day. The Merkin Pizza Wagon is here, too. See you there. #phx #willcoxwinecountry #arizonawine #dtphx.”

KingGeorge_Drgn commented on Reddit about Tool’s Grammy win, “And congrats to Danny on expecting a new child!” Everydayname added, “I love how he inadvertently announced that. Haha. It was adorable. Very happy for them!”

KingGeorge_Drgn wrote, “When the video is live, Danny was very humble. Said something like it restores his faith in humanity when a 15 minute song wins a Grammy. Gave shout outs to legendary drummers including Neal Peart. Full of emotions that’s for sure.”

VVTFanÆnima chimed in, “Woot! Joining AEnima and Schism. Also Recording Package for Adam Jones back in the 10,000 Days era. But Fear Inoculum joins Vicarious and The Pot as a loser. Boo.” Metal23 concluded, “Always exciting to see artists who really put their heart and soul into their work get the recognition they deserve! You can tell this really meant a lot to Danny with his acceptance speech. Huge congratulations to Tool for the win!!” Maynard James Keenan ‘losing his voice’ at a Tool show was just revealed.
