Deftones are teaming up with Idles and Sunny Day Real Estate to bring back their festival “DIA DE LOS DEFTONES” for the first time since 2022.
Set to take place later this year on November 2 at Petco Park in San Diego, this year’s installment of the festival will mark the fifth anniversary of the annual music celebration.
Aside from Deftones being both the headliners and host of the festival, the band announced the years lineup will include: Idles, Sunny Day Real Estate (who will be performing their debut album “Diary” it its entirety), Health, Paris Texas, Duster, Gel, and Qendresa.
The announcement of this festival comes after Deftones frontman Chino Moreno revealed that he and his band have nearly finished a new album. “Basically, where we’re sitting right now is we have a whole record recorded all musically. And it’s pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals,” he told radio station KROQ in April. “But it is coming, and, yeah, it’s really good. We’re really excited with what we’ve been working on. And everybody’s jazzed.”
Not long after that interview, Moreno was spotted in the studio in Portland with producer Nick Raskulincz, reportedly wrapping up the vocal tracks for the album.
Tickets for “Dia de los Deftones” go on sale this Friday, July 26.
