Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton said that the feuding between members like Steven Tyler and Joe Perry is finally over. Tyler and Aerosmith announced a few days ago that a member was missing a show for a sad reason.

Hamilton told Music Radar, “I think that nowadays we’ve all become a little better at having respect for each other’s soft spots. It probably comes from us all just being grateful that we have this band, and all the excitement and adventure that goes with it, and an appreciation of how easy it would be to lose it.”

He said about the band’s future, “I would never shut my eyes and nap on what we’ve accumulated over all these years. There are still places in this world where there are Aerosmith fans that have never heard us live. This band is playing better and better the more we do it. It’s not like we’ve done it all. There’s still Cuba, for instance. I’d absolutely love to play there. I’ll always be open to the idea that there might be another record in our future. Why rule it out?”

Steven Tyler firing an Aerosmith bandmate was questioned by another member in a new interview. Joe Perry discussed his rocky relationship with Tyler in 2014 with Smashing Interviews, “It’s pretty much what it is. You can love your brother, but you don’t have to like him. We have our ups and downs. He’ll say stuff in the press and I’ll think, ‘What the hell is he talking about?’ Next time I see him, it’s all hugs and kisses.

We know the band is bigger than our ups and downs. If anything, it’s been a learning process in how to deal with each other’s personalities. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to write the book because people hear stuff about Joe and Steven not getting along.”

Perry also said in 2014, “Steve has become more driven and hungry for acceptance and fame than he was in the 70s, or even the early 80’s. He was more of a team player back then.”
