Eddie Van Halen has been called reclusive in the last couple of years after rumors of him getting throat cancer, but new photos of his brother Alex Van Halen have not surfaced in a few years now since Van Halen last toured in 2015. New photos of Alex from 2019 and late 2018 recently surfaced, and he is looking great, with a slightly thinner frame.
Alex’s wife Stine wrote on her vhfarmsllc page on May 8, 2019 captioning a new photo, “Happy Birthday to my beautiful husband ~ another year younger love you to the moon and back ❤️#malcolmvanhalen photo.”
She wrote on December 9, 2018 about another picture, “Rancher and his dog George ❤️VH Farms.” Alex Van Halen’s last public appearance was on April 29, 2017 in Los Angeles at the 2017 MOCA Gala held at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. Alex attended the event with his wife Stine, and it is the only public appearance he has made since Van Halen’s final show on October 4, 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl.
David Lee Roth claimed to have met with Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen last summer to discuss the future of the band after a summer reunion tour with Michael Anthony was canceled before being announced.
A couple months later, Roth hinted at Eddie Van Halen being in poor health, and said the band was over and he was ‘the face of Van Halen’ moving forward. Sammy Hagar recently dropped a heartbreaking Alex Van Halen bombshell.
