The most recent biopic of Elvis Presley starring Austin Butler has been extremely popular since it was released back on June 24th. The film highlights Elvis, who recently had his granddaughter post these scandalous photos, from his rise to fame to his unprecedented superstardom. It also focuses on how rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley maintains a complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker, over the course of 20 years. Central to Presley’s journey and happiness is one of the most influential people in his life — Priscilla.
However, there is one person who is less than thrilled over the new film, one of Presley’s ex-lovers, Linda Thompson. Thompson, who also married celebrities such as David Foster and Caitlyn Jenner wanted a “normal” life, which was not possible with Presley’s lifestyle. However, they broke up on good terms and remained good friends until Presley’s death
According to Philstar, Thompson was quoted as saying about the film: “I haven’t seen it yet. The trailer looks very entertaining and Austin Butler appears to do a fantastic depiction.”
However, she would also voice her disappointment in not being included in a popular bio-pic as she would also state: “But since so many people are left out who were very important and instrumental in Elvis’ life – I wouldn’t call it a biopic,” she said.
Thompson continued: “I spent four-and-a-half years of my life living with and deeply caring for Elvis on many levels. I shared a hospital room with him every time he was in the hospital,” she recalled.
Concluding, she also said: “I had my bed next to his during those times… I saved his life on several occasions. I traveled on every tour with him. I was the only woman to ever do so in this life. I was at every Las Vegas engagement during those years.”
