Dave Grohl’s last words to Taylor Hawkins were recently revealed. One member of the media who has been deeply troubled since the death of Hawkins, as the two were quite friendly to one another is ‘The King of all Media’ himself, Howard Stern. As MarksFriggin.com would recap after a recent edition of Stern’s popular satellite radio program, ‘The Howard Stern Show’ that Stern got in contact with Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl recently, via e-mail following Hawkins’ death.

Per the recap: ” Howard took a call from a guy who said he’s a big fan of the guy and he never met them but he knows that Howard had a relationship. He asked if he sent a note to Dave or anything like that. Howard said he’s bad with that kind of stuff. He said he doesn’t want to be a nudge. He said whenever he has shit going on in his life he wants to be left alone so he thinks that everyone is like him. He said he’s just a freak though.”
As the recap would continue: “He said that he did get in touch with Dave a day later. He said he doesn’t hang out with Dave but he feels a kinship with him. He said he did reach out and Dave did get back to him. He said he told him he didn’t have to but he won’t say what he said. He said he did let him know how sad he was for him and for Taylor’s family and all of that. Robin said she thought about his family and how that was going. Howard said he can be a human being once in a while. He said he figured in the past that people would appreciate him not reaching out to them.”

During a recent discussion with Detroit-based radio station WRIF, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm touched on the death of Taylor Hawkins and would issue the following thoughts. Credit to Blabbermouth for the following.

“We’ve been working with the same producer, Nick Raskulinecz, that did a bunch of those FOOs records with Taylor,” she continued. “And every time that — speaking of my little brother — every time Arejay would get off on a tear or something in the studio, he’d [say], ‘Dude, you’re acting just like Taylor. You guys gotta hang out.’

“I wasn’t there when little bro and Taylor met, but I’m sure it was chaos in the room. I just heard from everybody that I know about how wonderful Taylor was.

“It’s such a shame, man,” Lzzy added. “We’re losing so many of our beautiful souls in this community. I know it’s just a sign of the times and everyone’s getting up there [in age] and all that. But it’s just a shame.”
