A Foo Fighters fan posted a photo on Reddit showing Pat Smear enjoying $50 booze at Lollapalooza. He wrote, “Can we appreciate that in 90F heat when the rest of the band is drinking beer and water, Pat Fuckin Smear has chilled Veuve Clicquot on stage?”

Jason Sudeikis discussed the Foo Fighters ‘My Hero’ and realizing how it influenced Season 2 of Ted Lasso in a new After School Radio interview on Apple Music.

“That song, for me, the reason why I feel like it changed my life. I had done sketch comedy and I liked writing. And I still like writing to songs. Like if there’s a song that inspires a sketch idea, then… Especially, when you’re doing live sketch, you don’t have to pay for the rights, you know what I mean? But then, when you’re on SNL, I would write a lot of sketches to music. One of my favorite sketches that we did would be these like, I think we called them song or bar song. And it would be like when there are four guys sitting around listening to a song.

The first one I did was an idea that I’d had to Danny’s Song by Loggins and Messina. And especially when something, when verse into the chorus, burst into the chorus. Especially when something went bursts into the chorus. You would tell a story joke during the verse, and then everybody comes in for the chorus and sings the chorus. Then, oh, you know, this song reminds me of this, this song reminds me of that. Then you’d go into that and we’d probably did six or seven of those, but to pay for the rights to Wild World by Cat Stevens is like, SNL is not going to do that for Best Of collections or online. So, they kind of disappeared. But My Hero was the first time that I heard a song and I felt, I saw a whole movie about that song. At least my interpretation of it. I’ve never spoken to Gus nor Dave or any of the guys in the band about what that song is about.

I’m sure he’s spoken about it somewhere, but I’ve never sort of tried to research what it was about, but I knew what it was about for me, and some of those themes are literally being used in season two of Ted Lasso, which I hadn’t put together until I put together this list. Just the idea of false prophets or don’t meet your heroes or the idea of all statues have clay feet, I think is another example of that. People are human. It’s another, it’s actually, now piecing it together, one of the next songs is a similar theme that I’ll get to when we talk about it. But I just saw a whole world, a whole narrative, and that happens all the time now. Or not all the time, but I listen when it does happen. I pay attention when a song becomes a muse, whether you end up using the tune or not. But yeah, I saw a beginning, middle and end to a story in that song, for me. That was really profound at 21 years old, 22 years old, having just moved to Chicago to try this acting thing.”
