Late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury’s friendship with Michael Jackson has come back into focus in the last year due to film projects regarding the two singers being released, and Freddie Mercury Club have posted some rare photos of Mercury and Jackson, including a photo where Mercury is smoking. Freddie had the voice of an angel, but smoking is awful for your voice! A horrible Freddie Mercury firing before his death was just revealed.

Freddie Mercury Club wrote, “Happy birthday to Michael Jackson who would have been 61 today 🙌❤🎊

‘I’m a Freddie Mercury fan.’💥

(In response to an interviewer backstage at a Queen concert at the LA Forum, who asked: Can I tell my viewers that Michael Jackson is a Queen fan?)

Quoted in “Michael Jackson: Life in the Magical Kingdom”, in Rolling Stone (17 February 1983).

P.S. Now that’s what I call a true hardcore fan of Freddie. I love how Michael specifically wants it to be known that he’s a Freddie Mercury fan and mire than a Queen fan because Michael, like many others, was in love with Freddie himself and what he represented on and off stage beyond Queen music. I am so in love with Michael’s response cause it’s sooo me… 💪.

P.S I mean just look at the way he’s looking at Freddie in the 2nd photo…Michael was a world wide success by that point and yet he’s awed and hypnotized by everything about Freddie…because only true genius recognizes true genius 😍.” A Freddie Mercury bandmate revealed a sad goodbye letter earlier this week.
