Green Day were recently forced off the stage in a bizarre moment during their concert on Wednesday night at Comerica Park as per the police.

Drone interrupts Green Day concert

About 20 minutes into the concert and during the second chorus of the band’s hit single “Longview,” the band members dropped their instruments and were rushed from the stage.

Billboard confirmed that an “unauthorized drone” was spotted moving within sight of the stage by security as they pulled the band offstage. It wasn’t explained to the crowd why the band got off the stage in a rush. A message soon appeared on the stage’s video screens that read: “Show Pause. Please standby for details.”

“There was an individual that flew a drone into Comerica Park, so Green Day was taken off stage,” Detroit police Cpl. Dan Donakowski said.

“Shortly after that, they went back on stage to perform. DPD located this individual outside of Comerica Park. He is being detained pending further investigation.”

The band was absent for about 10 minutes before they returned to the stage.

“How you guys doing? Everybody OK?” Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said to the roughly 35,000 fans. He asked fans to put away their phones and be in the moment and picked up the exact spot in the song where the band left off.

After the next song, “Welcome to Paradise,” Armstrong again addressed the crowd. “There ain’t no motherf—– that’s gonna stop us, I’ll tell you that,” he said.

On X, the band sent out a message addressing the incident that halted their concert.

“Detroit! Sorry for the delay in the show tonight,” the post said. “Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue. DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding.”

Green Day’s concert was in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the band’s 1994 breakthrough album “Dookie” and the 20th anniversary of its 2004 triumph “American Idiot.”

“A night we’re all gonna remember,” Armstrong said after the closing song, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”

Green Day is currently on their Saviors Tour, with their next show scheduled at Coors Field in Denver on September 7th. This is the second time the band has had to stop a concert recently. In August, Green Day had to quickly finish their set at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis due to a lightning storm approaching the venue.
