Gwen Stefani Says Faith ‘Awakening’ Led to Apollo
Gwen Stefani has shared new details about her faith journey and how she believes it intersected with her path to becoming a mother again, saying a spiritual “awakening” helped lead to the birth of her youngest son, Apollo, whom she welcomed at 44.
In a conversation filmed for the Hallow prayer and meditation platform, Stefani said she was “desperate” to have another baby when she began discussing the Torah with a man she described as an atheist who converted after an epiphany, and People reported that those conversations helped “wake” her up spiritually.
Stefani also recalled her oldest son, Kingston, approaching her as a child and telling her he wanted her to have another baby, after which he began praying nightly for her to conceive, something she said she did not ask him to do or teach him.
In the same account, the singer said she became pregnant about four weeks later and described Apollo’s arrival as a “full-on gift” and her “first miracle,” while recent public attention on her personal life has also included reports that friends have voiced concern about Blake Shelton and Stefani.
Stefani shares Kingston, Zuma and Apollo with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and she characterised herself in the interview as a “baby Christian” who is still a work in progress despite a Catholic upbringing.
