On a recent vacation show episode, Howard Stern played music from The Beatles icon John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono, and played a porn star screaming with her. Paul McCartney made a ‘freaky’ John Lennon remark over the weekend.
MarksFriggin.com recapped: Howard said Robin has covered some Yoko Ono songs and he thinks that she’s fallen into something. He said her interpretation of Yoko is better than Yoko. He said he’s not kidding about that. He said Yoko is now 85 years old. He said her new album is called War Zone. Robin said he’s right. Howard played some of her song ”War Zone” and then played Robin’s cover of that song. Howard said this is Robin covering War Zone. He said she has so much power in the song. He said she has a power and presence that no one has. He said they took that and mixed in a porn actress screaming. He played that too. They took Yoko’s voice out and replaced it with a porn chick.
Howard said Robin also covered ”Hell in Paradise” by Yoko. He played Yoko’s version first and then played Robin’s cover. She was doing the Yoko accent in the song. Howard said ”Wow!” when he heard Robin singing that one. He said here’s Yoko and played her singing. He said he thinks he likes Robin’s yell better. He said it’s like a Tarzan yell. Robin said it came out very well. She said she knows who she can cover now.
Howard said he’s going to play a track from Yoko’s album. He said that Mark David Chapman wants to marry Robin now. He said he’s going to play a track and you have to guess if its something real or did they fake it. He played one called ”I’m Alive.” It had banging sounds and Yoko saying ”It’s me. I’m alive.” Robin guessed it was a real song. Howard said listen to this one. He played another song called ”Wind” with a vacuum cleaner sound in it with Yoko’s voice. Robin said that might be real. Howard said wrong. He said they recorded that in the Sirius bathroom. Robin said they might have a hit song there. Howard said it was a hand dryer in the bathroom there. He said he hates those hand driers. He said just give him a paper towel.
Howard said he’s not sure why they put that in. Robin said it’s to stop waste. Howard said some things need to have waste. John Lennon’s family made an emotional AIDS announcement a few days ago with a powerful photo.
Howard played another song called Children Power. He asked Robin if that’s real or fake. Robin said it’s Yoko. Howard said that it has animal sounds in it. Robin said she doesn’t understand it. Howard said she’s right though.
Howard said this is called ”Daylight.” He played the song and it had a bunch of random sound drops in it. Robin knew it was fake. Howard said she’s right about that.
Howard played one more where Yoko sang about people calling her a fuck head and things like that. Robin said that’s real. Howard said she’s right. He said it was called ”All of Me.”
Howard said that Sean Lennon released a tape of his mom and he’s not sure if he’s goofing on her or not. Howard said he might be goofing on her. He played the clip and Sean put out a clip of his mom rambling and not making any sense.
Howard played a song called Eternal Moon where they had random sound drops playing in the song. Robin said that is a Sal and Richard special. Howard said it was recoded on 9th Ave.
Robin asked if she writes the songs music and lyrics. Robin said she’s not writing music. Howard said it depends on your definition of what music is. Howard said he doesn’t have an answer for that. John Lennon mocking Elvis Presley’s weight in a photo was revealed a few weeks ago.
