Jack White Goes After President’s ‘Brain Tests’

Jack White didn’t hold back in responding to former President Donald Trump’s anniversary press conference where Trump touted his accomplishments amid ongoing questions about his cognitive fitness. In a now-viral Instagram post, White mocked Trump’s repetitive self-praise with a stream-of-consciousness message that read in part, “Me do accomplishments! Trump smart. Good boy deserve Nobel Peace Prize! Dementia? What is? NO! Trump smart, pass brain test, name giraffe…” — a clear send-up of Trump’s own meme-worthy references to cognitive tests like the Montreal Cognitive Assessment that he has publicly touted in recent years.

White continued with surreal, satirical lines about Trump running other countries “for fun” and giving “fake, I mean real Peace Prizes for pillows,” before wrapping up with a mocking “Nighty night.”

The White Stripes co-founder’s post wasn’t just absurdist humor — it reflects a longer pattern of White speaking out politically. White previously reacted strongly when Trump used the White Stripes’ iconic track “Seven Nation Army” in campaign material without permission, prompting cease-and-desist actions and public statements distancing themselves from the former president’s politics.

White’s message drew a mixed reaction in the comments, with some praising his blunt satire and others criticizing the tone. The post also referenced other musicians and conservative figures, with White suggesting that supporters of Ted Nugent or Kid Rock — artists sometimes associated with Trump-leaning audiences — might not find his humor welcome.
