As reported recently, Motley Crue drummer and rock and roll bad boy Tommy Lee broke several ribs during the first night of the long-awaited Stadium Tour also featuring Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. The incident happened Thursday, June 16 over in Atlanta, Georgia. Following the injury and concert.

Tommy Lee would put out the following statement that was originally seen on social media via Instagram. Here, Lee would take comfort to his fans and the various fans of Motley Crue and hair metal across the nation that the group and tour would be in good hands as his personal friend Tommy Clufetos would be filling in for Lee until he could return at one-hundred percent capacity.

The statement would read: “Man y’all ain’t gonna believe this shit! I broke four fucking ribs! But I’ve been resting and healing and even though the doctor tells me I shouldn’t play at all, you know I’m stubborn and I’ll beast through the pain every show for as many songs as I can! And have No Fear my boy Tommy Clufetos is here to help me out until I’m back at 100 percent . . . We’ve all been waiting years for this moment and there’s no way I’m missing this! On with the show!”

One person who is truly impressed with Tommy’s will to keep playing, despite having broken ribs is none other than his own bandmate, Nikki Sixx. He would say the below on his personal Twitter.

“The fact that Tommy was told by the doctor to not play with 4 broken ribs & he beasted half-hour show is a miracle,” Nikki wrote on Twitter earlier today (Friday, June 17). “We are a band and are proud of his strength. He is doing the whole tour and day by day adding more songs. What a f***ing animal. Anybody out there ever breaks your ribs?”
