Pearl Jam Announce Massive Summer Tour Plan

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready recently opened up on Pearl Jam’s upcoming plans. He joined in for an interview with Guitar World in which he revealed that the band has lots of new material that is waiting to be released.

It was back in December 2019, that the band announced their plans to tour Europe in the summer of 2020. They then released their eleventh studio album ‘Gigaton’ on March 27, 2020, and announced tour dates in North America, which they later had to postpone due to the pandemic. Previously, Pete Townshend had released tragic Pearl Jam message.

In May 2021, the band announced the release of a digital collection that includes their 200 concerts dating from 2000 to 2013. The collection of over five thousand songs titled ‘Deep’ is made accessible for the members of the band’s Ten Club.

On September 18, 2021, Pearl Jam played their first show since 2018 at the Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, along with former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer who made his debut as a touring musician with Pearl Jam.

It has been noted that the band hasn’t released any new material since ‘Gigaton,’ and the fans are excited to hear more about Pearl Jam’s plans in 2022. McCready asked  to shared the upcoming plans and he said they are planning to tour Europe and United States this summer, but that world circumstances could potentially block it from happening. The guitarist also mentioned their plan to dish out some music, as they have lots of new material to release.

While talking about Pearl Jam’s future plans, Mike McCready told Guitar World the following:

“And Pearl Jam, we hopefully will be touring in Europe in the summer and maybe in the States before that. With Omicron, who knows what’s going to go on? I hope we can release some music, because we have a lot of music that we haven’t put out.”
