Legendary music photographer Paul Natkin was interviewed on WGN Radio and discussed Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme photographer Chelsea Lauren last month at a show in Los Angeles.

Natkin mentioned how bands used to love photographers before MTV and the growing entertainment media industry turned them into celebrities. He mentioned that some bands then started cussing at him, but he never had any incident like the Josh Homme one.

“I never had any problems with him, but I think he’s hanging out with Dave Grohl too much.”

He added, “Well Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters hate photographers more than any other bands on the planet. They don’t let anybody shoot pictures of them. There’s a famous story, there’s a newspaper called City Pages in Minneapolis, and they sent a writer to review the Foo Fighters show, and they wouldn’t allow their photographer in, so they drew a stick figure of him with a guitar and put it on the front page of the paper. I actually met the editor shortly after that, and gave her a big hug.”

He later said, “It’s just the crazy rock star doing something stupid.”
