Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme recently reflected on the time he made headlines in quite an unfortunate light. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Homme was asked about a 2017 incident in which he kicked Chelsea Lauren, a photographer in the face during a concert. Queens of the Stone Age was pronounced ‘finished’ in this sad announcement last week.

Dave Grohl revealed how he was disrespected by a girl with Josh Homme last month. Homme told Rolling Stone: “Well, that’s really just a very insignificant part of all the things I’ve done in my life. I think in the time frame, certainly much more was made of it than necessary, and I think people take things and they run. And it’s not like anyone was going to listen to what I had to say, so I didn’t say really anything. And I don’t see the real reason to do it now.”

Lauren recalled the events as follows, telling Variety about the incident when it happened. “Josh was coming over and I was pretty excited, I’ve never actually photographed Queens Of The Stone Age before, I was really looking forward to it. I saw him coming over and I was shooting away,” she said. “The next thing I know his foot connects with my camera and my camera connects with my face, really hard. He looked straight at me, swung his leg back pretty hard and full-blown kicked me in the face. He continued performing, I was startled, I kind of stopped looking at him, I just got down and was holding my face because it hurt so badly.”

The photographer also claimed she had to spend the night in the hospital when the kicking took place. To Homme’s credit, he did offer a new apology about the incident. However this has been the first time that he has spoken about this particular event since it took place.
