Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello tweeted out a new song clip with the cryptic date ’10/30/20′ on Friday afternoon, fueling speculation from fans that a new RATM album is coming, though in all likelihood it’s another solo project, but who knows, maybe fans’ dreams could come true! Rage Against The Machine reunited last year, but were forced to postpone their 2020 tour to 2021 due to the pandemic.

Samedi50 commented on Morello’s tweet, “Man….. the World NEEDS a new Rage Against the Machine album. You must be the soundtrack of those times.”

Geoff Pratt wrote, “My guess is new RATM. They were scheduled to headline Coachella last April. Tour = new music. COVID probably delayed the release. As others have said, there couldn’t be a better time. Anything new from Tom right now is welcomed.”

Aaron Mountford added, “Um, I really think this is Atlas Underground 2! I don’t think it will be RATM however lockdown maybe has got them writing.”

Jeremy Hanna chimed in, “Oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please let this be what I hope and pray it is…WE NEED TO RAGE.”

Rage Against The Machine’s last album of new material was 1999’s The Battle of Los Angeles, though they released a covers album called Renegades in 2000 before breaking up. RATM reunited from 2007 to 2011 but didn’t release new material, and Zack de la Rocha’s only new release in the last 20 years is the 2008 self-titled EP he released with One Day as a Lion.

The EP featured 5 songs, and it was Zack’s collaboration with Queens of the Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore. Zack de la Rocha released a solo song called “Digging For Windows” in 2016 which was supposed to be the lead single off of a solo album, but that was later canceled. Josh Homme and Zack de la Rocha recently played at a show together.
