Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith was recently offered to reunite with Chickenfoot for a performance at a festival, but he couldn’t do it as he had commitments with the Chili Peppers. Anthony Kiedis was recently disrespected by a young girl on camera.
Sammy Hagar told Classic Rock Magazine about Chickenfoot, “Well, it was such a hard band to find time for. That band was all about the chemistry, and Chad Smith [Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer who played on the first Chickenfoot album] was such an important part of that. Every time the Chili Peppers did a record, they’d go out and tour for five fucking years.
We had to do the second album without him, and it wasn’t the same. No disrespect to Kenny Aronoff [who played on the second album], but it was about the four of us.”
RHCP revealed a disgusting Brad Pitt secret last month. Hagar added about the reunion performance (the interview was conducted a few months ago), “I’m doing a show in September, and I tried to get Chickenfoot to headline the second night, but Chad’s playing a festival with the Chili Peppers. I just told Joe [Satriani] this morning and he went: ‘Fuck, man.’ He was so disappointed, cos he loves Chickenfoot as much as I do. I would like to do that, but there’s just too much going on with this Circle record. I want people to think it’s as good as I think it is.”
leandrorhcp posted on Reddit: This is a megathread devoted to updates on the band’s upcoming 12th album to avoid the weekly posts asking for news. As of today nobody really knows how far they’re into the recording process (if they actually started recording the album at all). For all we know all they could have been doing this year is writting/demoing songs. There are no live shows booked for a whole year, so everything points to them resuming/restarting the process soon.
Here’s every mention so far:

We started to work on it, which for us is just getting in a room and making some noise and putting some notes together and then the [Malibu] fires came, and the house we were working in – there was no damage, it didn’t burn down, but we couldn’t get back in there. So that halted our progress.

Q: Obviously you’re writing a new record, hopefully it will come out sometime next year.
A: We actually start on Monday. Officially.
Q: So almost definitely comes out next year? Good chance?
A: Umm… yes. Next year? I mean, correct.

Kiedis doesn’t like to keep fans waiting, either. He revealed that the Chili Peppers will begin work on a new album in about two weeks. John Frusciante made a comeback announcement in August.
