Red Hot Chili Peppers Lose Big Name: ‘He Was Late’

When you are invited to support an act such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, it’s probably a good idea to be on time and in good spirits. Hopefully as good of spirits as Anthony Keidis usually is. A$AP Rocky must have not gotten the word about that as he nearly no-showed a recent event in which he would be supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Signs at the concert at Old Trafford, Manchester informed those in attendance that A$AP Rocky would close the performance following an opening set by Thundercat. The Red Hot Chili Peppers would go on next to play their set before A$AP closed the show with a 20-minute set. Fans were not happy at all.

One Twitter user wrote the following about A$AP: “So some dude called A$AP rocky was supposed to support Red Hot Chilli Peppers and arrived late to the gig so had to perform after them. When he arrived he came dressed like a bin man and everyone was leaving when he went on.”

Surely, this has ruined his reputation with not just fans, but bands and other artists alike. It’s okay to be late to something, but to almost no-show just isn’t the way that the game should be played. Even Liam Gallagher has taken some jabs at the rap star.

Another Twitter post showed that Liam Gallagher may have been the cause behind A$AP Rocky’s delayed performance, writing: “Do u think asap rocky didn’t wanna play manchester bc he’s still upset that liam gallagher called him whatsapp ricky?”

All jokes aside, the fans in the crowd were at least pretty happy with how all of the other acts did that night as well as how the Red Hot Chili Peppers did as well as the band went on for almost two hours spanning through their vast history of music and sound.

Special thanks to NME.
