The Cars legendary frontman Ric Ocasek died at his townhouse in New York on Sunday. His estranged wife Paulina Porizkova found him unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Ocasek and Porizkova separated last year. The cause of death is currently unknown. He was 75 years old, and The Cars last performed live at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April 2018. A sad Dave Grohl and Chris Cornell Rock and Roll Hall of Fame claim was revealed yesterday.

Ocasek made his final public appearance at the New York screening of ‘Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story By Martin Scorsese’ on June 10, 2019 in New York City. He was photographed with sons Jonathan Raven Ocasek and Oliver Orion Ocasek. You can see the Ric Ocasek final photo before his death below.

Weezer’s Blue album was produced by Ric Ocasek, and Howard Stern took a brutal shot recently at a Weezer and Ocasek hit song.

Ocasek’s wife Paulina Porzkova’s most recent social media post was just two days ago, where she discussed getting older, stating, “FBF Victor Skrebneski. How fortunate was I to be working with this genius for years AND getting paid for it? For Estée Lauder, he had to leave his comfortable studio in Chicago and haul butt to whatever locations. We did a lot of fancy apartments in NYC. And Long Island. And LA. But we could have been in his studio. Victor focused on his subject, making it appear as glorious and luminous as was possible.

I only just realized- seeing old photos posted by my Instagram friends- how amazing some these photos were. When we did them, it all just seemed like work. One beautiful thing that comes with age is the gratitude for highlights. And the ability to see them NOW, not twenty years from now. #fbf #victorskrebneski #esteelauder #oldtimehollywood #glam #oldhollywoodglam #oldhollywood @esteelauder.”
