Acclaimed Pink Floyd member Roger Waters recently spoke to the Global Consortium for Sustainable Peace in a new YouTube interview to discuss a bunch of topics. Here Waters reveals, in his words, how he disapproves of those who ‘are trying to resell the same thing over and over’ after being asked if we could look forward to upcoming Pink Floyd material. Alternative Nation transcribed Waters’ comments. Roger Waters calls out ‘drunk’ Pink Floyd performance.
Interviewer: It seems to me on Facebook and other places I see a lot of work going on Pink Floyd like albums, editing – is there new stuff coming out? Redone stuff on Pink Floyd albums talking place?
Roger Waters: You know, the people who are constantly trying to resell the same thing over and over again, which I disapprove of heartily.
In other news regarding Roger Waters, fans recently took to social media to reflect upon one of Waters’ highly regarded solo albums – ‘Is This The Life We Really Want?’ One fan proclaimed: “Like other reviewers, my experience with this album has changed over time with listening. The first few times I found it a tad off-putting and wanted more Floydness. But as I listen many times over weeks it has grown on me hugely and I find it a journey. His voice and tonality can be edgy even gruff but that becomes for me a part of the sonic scape. I tend not to listen to the words as lyrics but some of the lines punch through. If you have even a small resonance with any of the samples, I’d say go ahead and purchase – if your the sort of person that, like me, has the patience to give an album a chance to grow in appeal with repeated listenings.” Roger Waters reveals if Pink Floyd ‘failed’ after he quit.
