In other news regarding Taylor Momsen fans recently took to social media to discuss the legacy and impact of one of The Pretty Reckless’ most beloved albums – ‘Who You Selling For’. One fan noted: “If you’re used to the rich and sweet and fairly produced sound of The Pretty Reckless, this album may be a little bit of an adjustment at first.
It is obvious what the band was trying to do – to produce a vintage-sounding album with more focus on soul and spontaneity. But it is a great album and the more you listen to it, the more appreciation will build. As a musician, I truly appreciate the vintage sound and arrangements on this album. I think the arrangements themselves are worth the journey. What I look forward to is the Pretty Reckless doing this kind of free arrangement but with something between this level of stripped-down production and their previous efforts. Without a doubt, this album is a great rock album, is not formulaic and as always Taylor’s voice is just stunning. Ben and the band are likewise phenomenal – it feels like the soundtrack to a gritty western.

I feel like I’ve really grown to appreciate Jamie Perkins’ work on the drums as well. He does a great job of setting the mood for each song. Really, everyone was great. Hearing The Pretty Reckless play the piano was probably the best thing I didn’t know I wanted.
