Taylor Swift rocks the charts just about any time that she drops. She’s now rocking out in more ways than one.
Per USA Today, Recently, Taylor Swift released her newest song, ‘Lavender Haze,’ a track that encompasses what Swift is all about. When the song came out, it was received to lots of praise. It’s also off of her newest album which has done very well.
Swift is also making it known that she wants to push music and community forward. In the music video, Taylor features trans model, Laith Ashley to play a pivotal part in the video as Taylor Swift has made it known before that she is an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, which is wonderful to see her not only stand for her beliefs, but also ensure that she is taking action within those beliefs as well.
Ashley thanked Swift on social media and didn’t shy away from the importance of the moment. He wrote in an Instagram post: “Thank you @taylorswift for allowing me to play a small part in your story. You are brilliant and this is an experience I will never forget. It was truly magical. Your storytelling abilities through your music and visuals continues to leave me in awe, inspired, and hopeful. Thank you for being an ally. Representation matters. AND LOVE WILL ALWAYS WIN!”
Taylor Swift welcomed any kind of backlash as well as she stated that she had an incredible time working with Laith and even said that she didn’t “give a damn” what anyone has to say about her, her beliefs, or of what they deem is a good music video.
