Tool drummer Danny Carey was arrested at the airport in Kansas City after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with someone inside the terminal, as reported by TMZ. A video clip of Carey’s arrest also started surfacing on the internet.

Danny Carey could be charged a huge fine

The Law enforcement sources have reportedly told the site that airport police responded Sunday night (December 12) to a report of a disturbance between two men. When they got to the scene, they arrested Carey and transported him to a nearby police station. The 60-year-old musician was booked for misdemeanor assault and was released on bond. The police report is being forwarded to prosecutors for review, and potential charges will follow.

Carey’s arrest comes a day after he performed the Jimi Hendrix song “Fire” at the University of Kansas vs. the University of Missouri men’s basketball game in Lawrence, Kansas.

TMZ has also reported that the Law enforcement sources told them that Danny Carey was getting into it with an employee working security at the airport. It is now being speculated that he could be slapped with a fine for the incident up to $13,900, which is a huge amount.

Last week, Carey was also part of an all-star lineup of musicians who played a brief set of songs for charity, raising money for the Malibu Elementary School. Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney and Ozzy Osbourne / Post Malone collaborator Andrew Watt were also part of the project.

It is being hoped that the situation will improve as Tool are set to start 2022 with a U.S. tour starting in January, and then they’ll be heading out over to Europe in April.
