Are U2 dropping new album?

U2songs claimed a few months ago that a new album was near completion and would be ready to go by the end of the year. Fans are wondering whether it will actually happen. It has come to light that The album has been done for a long time and there’s been little sightings of them in and out of studios. There is a belief that the new album has been mixed and will be dropped anytime soon. Another belief is that should Larry be fit or rule himself out of a tour then dates will start to drop. This certainly feels like the calm before the storm. They would also want the momentum generated by the good press they received from their recent Sphere shows.

As per the recent reports, the band is looking into the artwork for the album. The final title may or may not be decided yet but its still hinted to be “Songs of ____” Some fans suggest “Descent” [to Hell] as a hint to AC/DC and the current polycrises on Earth, and a contrast to “[Songs of]Ascent” [going to Heaven/future hymns]. Reports suggest that the album isn’t submitted to Universal Music Group yet and expected to happen by July as per previous reports).

There is currently no word for the first single (name, release, art etc). For reference, “Vertigo” was reportedly ready by late June, and announced in early September and the video out by mid-October, a couple of months before the album release.

Meanwhile, All four members, including Larry, are in Dublin, supposedly to work. Edge was previously in Asia with Morleigh, Bono was perhaps in LA, Larry in Dublin to recover, and reports say that Adam in London following the finalization of his recent divorce.
