Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has reached out to his onetime Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith, who is most famous for starring in ‘Anchorman’ and ‘Old School.’

Smith recorded and toured with Chickenfoot, also featuring Joe Satriani and Sammy Hagar, until their second album Chickenfoot III was released in 2011, when Kenny Aranoff stood in as touring drummer due to Smith’s commitments with Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Chickenfoot reunited in 2016 with their full lineup for two shows in Nevada, and they did another one off reunion in San Francisco in 2018 at the Acoustic-4-A-Cure charity show.

Michael Anthony said in a new photo post, “Happy Birthday to my “Foot” brother, the irrepressible Chad Smith!!!”

Steveaageson commented, “Chickenfoot was a super star band that could of been one of the biggest Rock bands ever. To bad they were stuck on their solo stuff.”

Corvetteka2006 added, “We need a new Chickenfoot CD! That’s all I am gonna say about that. Long time Fan from Savannah, GA! – to Riverside CA! (I work in Aerospace. You go where the work is!)
Tom :-)”

Sggb628 said, “This guy seems to be the nicest guy to ever strap on a bass, I just finished a book by Noel Monk, even he could not say a bad word! Cheers 🥂 to being a good guy in a mean world.” Sammy Hagar just discussed a potential Eddie Van Halen tribute show.
