Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar recently made a bold demand to the Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Guns N’ Roses supergroup featuring Mike McCready, Chad Smith, Josh Klinghoffer, Taylor Hawkins, and Duff McKagan. Smith uploaded a rehearsal video, and Hagar demanded the band cover Montrose.

Hagar commented, “How about some Montrose once in while.”

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum commented, “Almost Chad, keep practicing.”

Current Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth is getting rave reviews for his new interview on WTF with Marc Maron. Roth revealed how Eddie Van Halen was insulted with racist remarks when he was younger. ArtyBoy posted on VHLinks.com, “It was the best Dave’s done in awhile.

He still loses me with this attempt to reposition Van Halen as an experiment in polyethnic world dance music. The nonsense about playing mariachi and salsa music to lowriders. C’mon, Dave, gimme a break! Forget about it!

At one point they start talking about Art Blakey, Arty Shaw, one of those old jazz guys. It makes me feel so suburban and middle class. My musical world has mostly been between classic rock radio, MTV and the pages of Rolling Stone. I just recently bought a few CD’s of music from the ’40’s, and man, I LOVE ’40’s music! There was music with tons of swing and attitude being made before Elvis and the Beatles ever came along that we barely hear about now. Makes me wish I’d been more open minded. Maybe I should be checking out Louis Prima. James Brown was a Louis Prima fan, too.”
