Late The Beatles icon John Lennon‘s Twitter posted the following quote. The quote is from an old interview, in which Lennon is discussing his solo song “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night”. This ‘awful’ John Lennon ‘mad drunk’ video was recently uncovered.

The track is off of Lennon’s fifth studio album as a solo performer entitled Walls and Bridges in which the incomparable Elton John guested on harmony vocals, piano and on the organ. John Lennon revealed who Paul McCartney ripped off.

“Thru The Night” was Lennon’s first number-one hit in the United States as a solo artist and his only chart-topping single in either the US or Britain during his lifetime. Whereas Walls and Bridges were certified silver in the UK, and gold in the US. You can view the Instagram post below. John Lennon’s widow revealed this beach swimsuit photo.

“I was fiddling about one night and @EltonJohn walked in with Tony King of Apple. Elton said, ‘Say, can I put a bit of piano on that?’ I said, ‘Sure, love it!’ He zapped in. I was amazed at his ability: I knew him, but I’d never seen him play. A fine musician, a great piano player. I was really pleasantly surprised at the way he could get in on such a loose track and add to it and keep up with the rhythm changes – obviously, ’cause it doesn’t keep the same rhythm. And then he sang with me. We had a great time.”⠀
