Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose almost appeared on ‘Totally Pauly’ in the mid-90’s on MTV with Matt Sorum, but he rejected the offer from Pauly Shore. Shore told the story on a new Appetite for Distortion podcast episode. Alternative Nation transcribed his remarks. Slash revealed how a Guns N’ Roses member went broke yesterday.

“We wanted to do a thing called ‘Where’s Axl’ week, where it’s basically me and Matt looking for Axl Rose. So I pitched Matt, ‘Hey Matt, let’s do a week episode called Where’s Axl, and we started looking for him and we go all these places, and we find him in his trailer, wherever he’s f**king living.’

So Matt calls Axl, and says, ‘Hey, this is what we want to do.’ Axl says, ‘F**k that, I don’t want to be involved with Pauly Shore.’ It’s hilarious, he basically shit on me. He shit on me because he was serious. I don’t know Axl, I don’t think I’ve ever met him before, but I was obviously a huge fan. I like watching his videos now on Instagram with him singing. He looks pudgy, it’s hilarious. Because we’re all a little pudgier, but he’s really pudgier. His head is like a circle now.”

Howard Stern recently revealed how Axl Rose wasted a huge amount of money. Shore’s show ended in 1995, so he is likely talking about 1994 or 1995, the beginning of Axl Rose’s infamous ‘wilderness’ years, and a couple years before Sorum departed GNR along with Slash and Duff McKagan.

Appetite For Distortion’s episode description also states, “Pauly Shore joins us to discuss being on the road with the ‘Family Feud’ game show and his Guns N’ Roses connections. His MTV Show ‘Totally Pauly’ almost had a ‘Where’s Axl?’ week, with the help of Matt Sorum. So what happened? We also chat about his comedy, movies, and podcasting. Check it out, buuuuuuddy…” Slash was devastated by a bandmate death recently.
