Late AC/DC singer Bon Scott’s ex-wife Irene Thornton discussed his alcoholism in a recent interview with Red Planet Music Books. Alternative Nation transcribed her comments. A list of how many new songs are on the new AC/DC album leaked yesterday. The new album reunites Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Phil Rudd, and Cliff Williams.

When asked about Bon’s favorite food, Irene responded, “Well yeah, he had a lot of those. Anything that was alcoholic.”

She also discussed the day he died, “Bon apparently had been out to a nightclub and had quite a bit to drink that night, and quite a bit to drink means heaps to drink. Apparently in the early hours of the morning when they got back to his mate’s place, he wasn’t able to be woken up because he’d passed out from all the alcohol.

Apparently his mate, having found it difficult to wake him up, left him in the car during the night, and because of the cold and alcohol, he unfortunately passed away in the car.” An AC/DC icon recently hired two singers for a tour.

She said despite the ugly ending to both their relationship and his life, she still has fond memories of her late ex-husband, “Yeah, I do have fond memories of him. I still think about him, it’s a bit hard to not think about him, you still hear his band AC/DC on the radio, and they mention him from time to time. I still hear him, I still see him, all these years later.

Bon Scott died at the age of 33 on February 19, 1980. Bon and Irene were married for 5 years. An AC/DC icon messed up after drinking in a new video.
