Creed fans have been anticipating a new album. However, the chances of that happening soon seem slim, though it could happen in the future. In a recent interview with Guitar Interactive magazine, Creed’s guitarist Mark Tremonti opened up about his love for writing music and the challenges that come with it.

Tremonti was asked if he would like to work on some fresh music with his bandmates. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):

“Yeah, I love writing music and I love doing it in many different ways. I love challenging ourselves, I love to be challenged, and writing for all these different acts, when you get into it, you’re, like, how am I gonna differentiate this from my other projects? How are we gonna make this its own thing and not sound like this other band with just a different vocalist on it?”

Reasons why a new Creed album might be stuck in limbo

Creed Can Just Tour To Make Money

It is needless to say Creed doesn’t necessarily require new music to fill arenas. Their classic hits like “With Arms Wide Open” and “My Sacrifice” are still crowd-pleasers. Touring with their existing catalog is a safe bet financially, and it’s something the band can rely on without the risk of disappointing album sales.

Alter Bridge’s Next Tour and Album

Mark Tremonti is a busy man. Alter Bridge is gearing up for their next tour and album and it seems that he is occupied with the schedule. Balancing multiple bands isn’t easy, and with Alter Bridge’s momentum, it’s understandable why Tremonti might be focusing more on that project right now.

Scott Stapp’s Solo Career

Creed’s frontman, Scott Stapp, has been making waves with his solo career. He’s been releasing new music and touring on his own, which could be another reason why Creed isn’t in a haste to hit the studio. Stapp’s solo efforts show that he’s still got plenty to say, even outside of Creed.

Creed’s Full Circle Didn’t Sell Great

Creed reunited and released Full Circle in 2009. However, the reception was lukewarm. The album didn’t exactly break records, and that might still be in the back of Tremonti’s mind.

Creed Has Enough Hit Songs

Creed already has a solid catalog of hits that have stood the test of time. Adding new songs could be seen as a gamble, especially when their existing material still rocks hard in live performances. It seems that the band might be content with what they’ve already accomplished.

It seems that there are plenty of obstacles in the way for the band to release a new album. However, fans might have to be content with reliving the glory days of Creed’s past, while waiting to see if the band will ever bring new music to the table.
