Freddie Mercury Bandmate Reveals ‘Bad’ Boyfriend Photo

Freddie Mercury bandmate and Queen guitarist Brian May discussed Freddie’s boyfriend Paul Prenter in a new social media post. A Freddie Mercury bandmate revealed how he was ‘revived’ yesterday.

“This might seem random … but there is a reason. I just heard that an old friend of mine who used to work on our promotion in Germany many years ago is poorly. Her colleague sent me this picture to remind me of old days. And it struck me probably nobody has seen this in recent times. It’s a moment in Munich in December 1980, when we were being presented with a gold disc (one of many, thanks to these guys’ hard work) for sales in Germany (on Electrola, as it was).

This shows – left to right – Werner Pöppel, Gaby Zangerl, me, a very youthful Jim Beach, Jochen Krauss, who sent me the pic, Freddie, John and Roger. Obscured behind Freddie is Paul Prenter, now known to you all as a character in a film, and something of a bad guy, although, of course, he wasn’t ALL bad ! Biopic movies are always, necessarily, a montage of simplifications (otherwise the film would be years long and unwatchable !) But hopefully distilled in a responsible way to tell a decent story. Swipe for a zoom in. Bri

Freddie Mercury’s painful final words to Queen onstage were detailed over the weekend. May also wrote, “In pursuit of infinity !! In moments of curiosity I’ve been pondering this shot for a while. 💥 💥💥💥 Only read on if you’re into Stereoscopic curiosities like I am. I don’t know if anyone else has ever got into this (tell me) – I did this in MONO a few months ago on IG. To get an infinitely repeating image within an image within an image in the smartphone, you have to use the back lens (selfie mode) but turn the camera screen AWAY from you, so you can only see the image indirectly in the mirror. So far so good. But to do it in stereo ? Easy ! Just move the phone sideways between shots … right ? Well, no. Try it !

What you get is a conflict between proper stereo in the room – including the phone camera itself, and proper stereo (not reversed, or ‘pseudo’) in the images seen on the phone screen. So ! How to move the camera and the body and head so it all works out ? Which way to rotate ? Go with the camera movement, or against ? And then what happens to the background ? I’ll leave you to figure the last bits out – it’s fun. Interesting in theory AND in practice !!! Have a go and tag me !! Cheers folks ! As usual, swipe to go from parallel viewing version to crosseyed. This seems to have become a nice convention among us in Team Stereo! — Bri. 💥💥💥💥💥 OK – thanks to @curio_curator I am adopting #teamstereoscopy as a hash tag.💥💥💥💥 credit for last photo : @mary26terry.” U2 frontman Bono revealed how Freddie Mercury flirted with him backstage at Live Aid.
