Guns N’ Roses legendary guitarist Slash recently recalled the old days and revealed that his mother had designed clothes for David Bowie and Janis Joplin.
Slash talks about the matter
She made him leather pants which he sold in order to buy drugs. Slash while speaking to Rolling Stone, he opened up on the incident stating:
“I do like leather pants. I remember [my mom] made me one of the coolest pairs of leather pants I ever had, which I f***ing traded for smack like an idiot years later. But I definitely picked up certain style elements subconsciously.”
The interviewer later asked, if Slash had any regrets from those days. The legendary guitarist revealed that not only pants, but he also sold a couple of guitars to buy heroin. But he spoke about moving on. Here is what he said:
“I mean little things like pants, a couple guitars I hocked. But you just move on. I was very lucky in all my insanity to have never caused anybody any real physical harm or got drunk and did any permanent damage. So I really don’t believe in regrets because shit happens.”
Slash, the legendary guitarist of Guns N’ Roses recently said he has no plans to break up with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for Guns N’ Roses in a new Reddit AMA. He also called out an incorrect Dave Mustaine rumor, saying he didn’t ghost write Megadeth songs or albums for Dave Mustaine, despite all those rumors.
Slash also told Rock 104.5 recently that he enjoyed recording his new Conspirators album, “Normally when we record, we play the song live together and then, because I hate to wear headphones and I hate the way my guitar sounds in the headphones, those are always considered to be dummy tracks and then I go back in the control room with the big monitors and play there,” he explained. “But I’ve always wanted to be able to do it where we’re all in just one room with the amps and play it live like that. And Dave was the first producer I’ve worked with that encouraged that idea.”
