John Frusciante revealed that he considered ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer a ‘friend’ just a few months before he replaced him in the band. A Red Hot Chili Peppers representative revealed why it was ‘hard’ to fire Josh Klinghoffer last week.

JFEffects.com.br just reported, “When Frusciante left the Red Hot Chili Peppers a second time, Josh Klinghoffer was the direct choice for the band – there were never auditions for the post. However, the relationship between the two friends distanced with Klinghoffer’s entry into the band and their last public meeting took place at a concert with Flea and Stella Mozgawa at Troubadour on September 4, 2008.

John Frusciante never mentioned Klinghoffer after he joined the Chili Peppers in October 2009, only said that he was still friends with everyone in the band in a conversation with fans at Johnny Ramone Tribute in August 2019. Already Klinghoffer, with constant flow of questions about his predecessor, was quite honest to talk about their relationship after joining the band – always showing much respect and admiration to Frusciante.”

RonaldMcTrumpster posted on Reddit about the guitarist change, “If I remember correctly: It seems like a 99% chance that they fired him. Why: Because sources close to Josh (a guy who knows friends of Josh) and a not widely known interviewer guy (January an interview coming up) have been both saying that he indeed has been fired.

One can probably trust them. Why? They called before the time it felt like absolutely megasafe which was the point when Flea confirmed a consecutive time and it popped up on rhcp.com that they indeed ‘parted ways’ with Josh. Still it is a little guess game. It is indeed speculation.

My guess is: Flea said in the name of the band “parted ways” so they met with John and then just told Josh that there ia a better energy and John is willing to get going again (‘waves are to be taken’ from his twitter) and then Josh knew he cant stand in the way so he did what was best for the Chili Peppers but what he actually wanted to do: A third album with them.” Dave Grohl is set to make an appearance with Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Josh Klinghoffer in a few days.
